Fatigue-free listening for one of Berlin’s top addresses.
Located directly on Pariser Platz in the DZ BANK Building, AXICA is situated between the Brandenburg Gate, the US embassy, the Academy of Arts and the Hotel Adlon – you could say: Berlin´s prime location. Of course, this also means that a first-class congress venue has to meet certain standards, and the AXICA really lives up to these standards. But what in particular characterizes the technology of such a facility? Above all, it is about inconspicuousness.
Ideally, the technology blends into the architecture in such a way that you don’t even notice it. The spectacular high-resolution LED wall in the FORUM shows an image of the exposed concrete of the wall on which it is mounted and thus almost completely disappears. There is no better way to describe AXICA´s aspirations: The technology should almost disappear, the focus is on content.
As for the loudspeakers, the particular challenge now lies in the inconspicuousness of the system. The FORUM holds up to 500 people and is covered by a glass dome – a real acoustic challenge. The task that we set ourselves together with our partners IT AUDIO and crossworks projects from Berlin was as follows: to provide the entire audience with crystal-clear sound through targeted sound reinforcement without overly stimulating the rest of the room acoustically.
Of course, the quality of the PA-System is extremely important, because only a very natural signal can be heard for hours without tiring – a factor that should not be underestimated! But media sound and music must also be reproduced dynamically and impressively. Thanks to the high SPL-reserves of the VIDA L systems used, this is achieved perfectly.
The special highlight: the VIDA L arrays, which frame the LED wall on the left and right, were perfectly made to measure, so that they connect exactly to the wall and surround it over the entire edge length. Only the relevant part is acoustically effective but visually, the system presents itself as a coherent loudspeaker and integrates perfectly into the architecture of the FORUM.
For smaller events (up to 200 people), the FOYER is the perfect place for a chat, a cappuccino at the FOYER-bar or even smaller receptions and exhibitions. Here too, unobtrusive, musical sound quality is at least as important as high speech intelligibility, and our VIDA systems can also impress here.
