TURNUPBRMN FESTIVAL 2025 – Bremen, Germany

On the first weekend of August, Bremen became the epicenter of the German rap scene: At TurnUpBRMN Festival, the “who’s who” of the country’s top rap acts – including Luciano, Reezy, KC Rebell & Summer Cem and Drunken Masters – performed live in front of approximately 25,000 attendees.

Our long-standing partner Sing Showtechnik, based near Hamburg, was responsible for the full technical production. Christoph Wöhler and Marco Kuhnmünch from Kling & Freitag supported the team on-site with system commissioning, -tuning and Showsupport throughout the event.

The PA setup included the following K&F loudspeaker systems:

The loudspeakers were powered by a total of 24 K&F system amplifiers from the PLM series. A Lake LM-X system processor was used as the central control unit, handling routing to the main, delay, and fill systems as well as the subwoofer array and multiple FoH console feeds. Thanks to the flexible Lake Controller architecture, all amplifier channels and the system processor could be managed within a single project file – which greatly simplified operation over the entire festival weekend.

“Even for an experienced system engineer, it’s not easy to meet the high expectations for tight, powerful, and especially deep low-end in German rap music while still complying with the strict local noise regulations in the surrounding residential areas,” says Christoph Wöhler from K&F. “We decided to deploy a cardioid subwoofer array using 36 NOMOS XLT, and adjusted the delay times to ensure even coverage across the entire audience area – while staying well below the legal limit in the residential zone to the right of the stage. Despite those constraints, we had clean and punchy 25 Hz coverage across the entire venue. The system’s overall performance was impressive, with plenty of headroom to play clearly and effortlessly at all times.”

“I couldn’t be happier,” adds Martin Karnatz, Founder of Sing Showtechnik. “Our SEQUENZA systems always deliver satisfied clients – and that’s what it’s all about. Whether it’s a small event or a large-scale festival like this, we always have the right tools in our kit. The feedback from the engineers was excellent, everyone was happy, and even with heavy rain throughout the day, we had zero failures or issues. Most importantly: The system sounded fantastic, delivering powerful low-end and crystal-clear vocals to all 25,000 guests. That’s exactly how it should be.”
